Woodworking has been part of the Winters family for generations.
Today, Dean Winters brings that tradition together with decades of hands-on experience and a background in art and design to create custom cabinetry that's thoughtful, functional and built for the way you live.
A Craftsman With a Designer's Eye
Dean grew up in the workshop, learning woodworking alongside his father. But his path also led him to the Alberta College of Art & Design, where he studied graphic design and illustration.
After gaining experience in cabinetry and finishing in Canmore, Dean returned to Winters Woodworks in 2007 and spent the next decade working alongside his father, Lawrence. When Lawrence retired, Dean took over the family business in 2019.
That combination of craftsmanship and design still shapes the way Dean approaches every project. He considers proportion, materials, function and how each piece will work within the larger space.
Because great cabinetry shouldn't simply fit your home.

Rooted in Sundre
Winters Woodworks is more than a family business. It's quite literally close to home.
Dean lives and works with his family near Sundre, Alberta, where the workshop is part of everyday life. Outside the shop, life revolves around family, the farm and the usual collection of projects that comes with rural living.
It's a fitting home for a business built on generations of making things well.
