Dean Winters and his wife Natalie

As a youth Dean helped his father in the workshop learning the trade and continuing a generational tradition of working with wood. In 2003 he moved to Canmore and worked for a carpentry outfit. While there he honed his carpentry skills doing cabinetry and finishing work. Dean joined his father in the family business In 2007, located west of Sundre. Dean worked along side his father, Lawrence for ten years building and installing custom cabinetry and fine finishing.

In 2019 Lawrence retired and Dean took up the Winters Woodworks banner. Since then his family built a house where he lives and works on the same property as his parents.

Right out of high school Dean studied graphic design and illustration at the Alberta College of Art & Design. His artistic abilities are an integral part of the the design and level of craftsmanship that has become the legacy of Winters Woodworks.
